It might be just what you’ve been looking for.
Roma’s 4-Year Alopecia Journey — Before & After
Roma is a 4-year-old Pomeranian who has been struggling with hair loss and alopecia symptoms since the summer of 2022.
We tried everything — so-called “miracle” products, raw food diets, supplements…
But nothing really worked.
Just when we were feeling hopeless and wondering if there was any other way, we came across Bamily during a deep-dive search.
Fortunately, Bamily products actually started to show results for Roma. 🙌
Seeing the positive change, her guardian reached out to us — hoping to get more guidance on how to properly care for Roma’s skin and coat.
As a result,
from July 2024 to April 2025 —
in just about 9 months,
this little pup transformed into a fluffy ball of fur! 🐶✨

You can tell at a glance —
just look how fluffy and full she’s become! 🐾
Wondering what kind of care made this incredible transformation possible?
Let me walk you through it — step by step!
Overcoming Alopecia = Restoring the Skin Barrier
If your dog is dealing with alopecia, there’s a high chance their skin barrier is compromised.
When the skin barrier breaks down, it leads to increased moisture loss and makes the skin more reactive to even the smallest irritations.
Over time, this results in skin that feels dry, rough, and fragile.

Just like plants can’t grow in dry, barren soil,
new fur can’t grow on dry, unhealthy skin either.
That’s why it’s essential to restore the skin barrier —
so your dog’s skin becomes hydrated and nourished enough for healthy fur to grow.
At Bamily, we recommend a 4-step care routine for dogs with alopecia —
carefully designed to restore the skin barrier in the healthiest way possible.
No more, no less — just follow these steps as they are!
STEP 1. Gentle, Non-Irritating Exfoliation

You might be a dedicated pet parent who’s tried just about everything —
but if exfoliation hasn’t been part of your routine yet,
it’s time to start now.
If you don’t exfoliate regularly,
the skin can become even more dry, and
dead skin can build up and thicken over time.
When that happens, no matter how much product you apply,
it won’t absorb properly — and all that effort goes to waste.
You applied the product because everyone said it was great —
but if it doesn’t actually absorb into the skin,
then it’s not going to have any effect at all. 😢
That’s why the first step in your home care routine should be
gentle exfoliation without irritation.
That way, the products can be properly absorbed,
and the absorbed nutrients can actually support skin recovery —
leading to gradual but steady improvement.
Since the skin barrier is not in a healthy state,
it’s best to choose products that are as gentle and non-irritating as possible.
So, avoid anything with AHA/BHA, and instead —
Use a wash-off herbal pack to gently massage your dog’s body —
this not only helps remove dead skin cells,
but also promotes full-body circulation all in one step. 🌿
STEP 2: Gentle, Hydrating Cleansing
Fur protects your dog’s skin.
Without it, their skin faces more irritation — from friction, UV, and more.
That’s why a gentle, moisturizing cleanser is essential.
In this kind of care,
low irritation is an absolute must.
So when it comes to cleansing,
you want as little irritation as possible,
while still washing away dirt and buildup —
and since the skin is already dry,
hydration is key too.
If that’s what you’re looking for,
liquid shampoos are a no-go to begin with.
They’re packed with chemical surfactants,
which means they lather well and have strong cleansing power —
but that also makes them harsh and drying on the skin.
That’s why we recommend using a natural bar soap made with the Cold Process (CP) method.
During the production process, natural glycerin is naturally formed, giving the soap excellent moisturizing properties while still maintaining effective cleansing power.
It’s gentle, yet strong enough to remove unnecessary impurities without stripping the skin.
Compared to the liquid shampoos you’re used to,
bar soap might feel a bit inconvenient at first —
But for overcoming alopecia…
It’s absolutely worth it!
STEP 3: Full-Body Soak for Healthy Circulation
You probably already know that soaking baths can help with alopecia — right?
But not all soaking baths are created equal.

If you’re currently using a fizzy bath bomb or carbonated soak —
stop right now!
You just washed your dog thoroughly with soap —
and then you use a fizzy bath soak on top of that?
That’s basically double cleansing — and that can be too harsh for sensitive skin.
Fizzy bath soaks are typically made with baking soda, citric acid, and corn starch,
which means they’re naturally formulated to help with cleansing.
If you’re wondering,
“But isn’t double cleansing better? Doesn’t it clean more thoroughly?” —
Well, not always. Let me explain.
No, absolutely not! 🚫
For dogs with weakened skin barriers,
double cleansing only causes more irritation and
can leave the skin feeling extremely dry and vulnerable.

So instead, we recommend using a pouch-type soak.
Since this type is brewed directly in water,
only the beneficial active ingredients are gently extracted —
which means your dog’s skin can absorb all the good stuff
without any unnecessary irritation.
And because there are no harsh chemicals in this soak,
you can safely skip the rinsing step altogether.
By not rinsing, the beneficial ingredients stay on your dog’s skin,
allowing them to keep working longer and deliver lasting effects.
STEP 4: Complete Moisture Care
If your dog has alopecia,
there’s a very high chance their skin is dry and dehydrated.
Dry skin can’t support healthy hair growth.
That’s why it’s essential to balance oil and moisture levels —
and create skin that’s full of the hydration and nutrients needed for fur to grow again.
To create that kind of healthy skin,
you need double hydration —
not just mist, but mist + essence used together.

First, use a mist to deeply hydrate the skin.
Then, apply a thin layer of essence on top —
this helps lock in the moisture provided by the mist
and keeps the skin hydrated for a longer time.
If you consistently follow the 4-step alopecia care routine I shared today,
you’ll not only help restore your dog’s skin health,
but also see the day when their fur starts growing back beautifully — without a doubt! 💛
